Here is the odd thing about Kindle prices in the UAE right now: the colour Kindle, AED 669, costs less than the black-and-white Paperwhite, AED 849.
Buy the Colorsoft for comics, manga, cookbooks, children's books, or if you love colour highlights.
Buy the Paperwhite if you read plain novels and want the longest battery. That is the one I own.

What colour actually changes
Covers. Your library looks like a bookshop instead of a grey list. Nice, but it does not change the reading itself.
Comics, manga and picture books. This is where the Colorsoft earns its place. On a black-and-white Kindle, colour art turns into shades of grey.
Cookbooks and non-fiction with charts. Colour diagrams and photos make sense again.
Highlights. You can highlight in yellow, orange, blue or pink, handy if you study from your Kindle.
Plain novels. Almost nothing. The text is black on a light page either way, at 300 ppi on both.
Why I still point most people to the Paperwhite.
I read novels and non-fiction, in Arabic and English, and I charge my Paperwhite about once a month. Colour would change very little for me, and the Paperwhite's battery is half as long again on paper.
But at AED 669, the Colorsoft is cheaper than my Kindle. If you read anything with pictures, it is the better buy right now.
