You do not need to spend AED 3,000 to stop sweeping every day. Here are eight robots under AED 1,000 from the three big brands, and the one I would buy at each price.

Where I stand

I have not used any of these eight robots. This is research, not a review.

We had an Ecovacs X11 at home, which costs almost three times this budget, and my brother works at Ecovacs, so treat my Ecovacs picks with that in mind. Everything here comes from the official listings and Amazon ratings, and only one of my five picks is an Ecovacs. I earn a small commission on Amazon.ae links.

The N20e with a bagless base, so there are no bags to buy. It is the most expensive self-emptying robot here and the code TIMELESS does not apply (it needs over AED 1,000), so I would only pick it if you hate buying bags.

The odd one out. It has the least suction on this page, but the best mop: DuoScrub mops that lift 7 mm when it reaches a rug, instead of a flat pad dragged behind. If your home is all tiles and marble, this is the one most likely to leave the floor properly mopped.

What matters at this price

Laser navigation first. Every robot on this page maps your home with a laser. Cheaper robots without one bump around at random and miss whole rooms. That is why nothing under AED 469 made the list.

A self-emptying base is the best upgrade under AED 1,000. In UAE dust, a small bin fills in a day or two. A base means the robot can run every day without you touching it.

Do not expect real mopping. Except for the Dreame L10s Pro Gen 2, the mops here are damp pads dragged behind the robot. Good for a daily wipe, not for sticky kitchen floors. For a station that washes the mop itself, the cheapest is the Ecovacs N30 PRO OMNI at AED 1,219, or AED 1,119 with my code.
