In the UAE the glass gets dusty faster than anyone wants to clean it. The Ecovacs Winbot Mini is AED 729. Here is where it earns its keep, and where it does not.
Worth it for: balcony glass, sliding doors, glass balustrades and big inside windows you clean often.

Where it makes sense in a UAE home
Balcony glass and sliding doors. This is the best use. Both sides are reachable from inside the flat and from the balcony, the dust builds up quickly after a windy day, and wiping a floor-to-ceiling door by hand is a chore nobody enjoys.
Glass balustrades. The glass panels around a balcony or staircase collect fingerprints and dust. A robot does them without you leaning over anything.
Big inside windows. Living room windows get a film of dust from the AC. The robot handles the inside; the outside of a sealed window on a high floor is not something to attempt yourself.
Small or awkward windows. Ecovacs built the Mini for windows under 30 cm, windows with security bars, and windows with a handle 50 to 80 mm from the glass.

How to use one safely
- Attach the safety rope every time, to something solid on your side of the glass.
- Start on the inside until you know how it behaves.
- Wipe off heavy sand first. Loose grit dragged across glass can scratch it.
- Do not use it outside on a windy day, or on a high floor where you cannot reach it.
- Wash the cleaning cloth after each session so dust does not go back on the glass.

Can a window cleaning robot clean the outside of high-rise windows?
Only where you can safely reach and secure it. The Winbot Mini holds on with 7,500 Pa of suction and has a safety rope, but on high floors the outside of sealed windows is usually a job for the building's cleaning team. Balcony glass, sliding doors and inside glass are the easy wins.
Is the Winbot Mini safe?
Ecovacs lists six hardware protections, including constant suction with leak compensation, a safety rope rated to at least 1,900 N, and blackout protection that keeps it on the glass for over 30 minutes with an alarm if the power cuts. Always attach the safety rope.
