T80 OMNI or T50S OMNI?
Two Ecovacs robots, AED 100 apart, both with a station that empties, washes and dries. The difference is the mop and the height.
Mostly tiles and marble: the T80 OMNI, AED 2,199. The roller mop is the better way to mop hard floors, and it is the cheaper of the two.
Low sofas, beds or lots of rugs: the T50S OMNI, AED 2,299. 17 mm thinner and more suction.

The four things that decide it
1. The mop
This is the real difference. The T80 has a single roller that spins against the floor while the robot feeds it clean water and scrapes the dirty water off, so it is not pushing yesterday's dust around the room. Ecovacs started with rollers on its flagships and has now brought one down to this price.
The T50S uses two spinning pads, the design most robot mops have used for years. They work, and they swing out to reach right up to the skirting, but they get dirtier as the run goes on until the station washes them.
In a UAE home, where the floor is usually tiles or marble and there is fine dust every day, I would rather have the roller.
2. Height
The T50S is 81 mm tall, the T80 is 98 mm. That sounds small, but plenty of sofas and bed frames sit between the two. Take a tape measure to the lowest piece of furniture you want cleaned under. If the gap is under 10 cm, the T50S is the safer choice.
3. Suction and carpets
The T50S has more suction on paper, 25,000 Pa against 18,000 to 20,000 Pa (Ecovacs quotes both figures for the T80). Suction numbers are not the whole story, but if you have thick rugs, the T50S has the edge, and it lifts its mops 9 mm on carpet with four carpet modes.
The T80 vacuums carpets first before mopping the rest, so the mop never drags across a rug.
4. Price
A month ago the T50S was the cheaper one. Now the T80 has dropped to AED 2,199, AED 100 less than the T50S. With the code TIMELESS they are AED 2,099 and AED 2,199.
